Jeerasar Rice
Jeerasar (also known as Seeraga Samba or Jeerakasala) is a short, aromatic rice named for its resemblance to cumin seeds. Grown in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Gujarat, it is the preferred variety for South Indian biryanis and festive rice dishes. Wayanad Jeerakasala holds a GI tag (2010). Available in raw milled and parboiled forms.

Matta Rice
Palakkadan Matta (Kerala Red Rice or Rosematta) is a bold, red-husked parboiled rice grown in Palakkad district, Kerala. It holds GI tag #36 (granted 2007) - one of the earliest agricultural GI registrations in India. Firm, chewy, and nutrient-rich, it is the staple rice of Kerala and the dominant export variety for the Keralite diaspora in the Gulf, UK, US, and Southeast Asia.
